Positive Thinking.
Postive thinking, the way we should go, No need to feel saddened, or tearful or low. Think of the good times, with more on their way, The future is brighter as starts each new day. Positive thinking, reach for the stars, Grasp every moment as if it were ours. Dream of what's perfect and blissful and true, And treasures abundant will all come to you. Positive thinking, don't ever feel down, A smile brings more joy than the lines of a frown. Reach for perfection, reach for that goal, Your reward will be happiness, deep in your soul.
Take Time.
Take time for understanding, the rhythm of our days, To analyse each meeting, Each nuance and each phrase.
Take time for those who love you, A moment every day, Tell them what they mean to you - In no uncertain way.
Take time for soft reflection, On what life means to you, Never treat folks flippantly - To thine own self be true.
Take time to smell the roses, Enjoy lifes precious gift, Too quickly it shall pass you by- And the passing can be swift.
Be kind to those who matter, Dont lose them in your day, Your life may be too full sometimes To ever stop and say -
" I do appreciate you, you mean a lot, you know, Which is why I'm taking time today - To simply tell you so".

I Take Joy.
I take joy every day, in the simplest things, Like the sound of the thrush, and the song that he brings, Like the sight of the clouds, as they're drifting on by, All floating around me, and filling the sky. I take joy in a smile from a genuine face, From a tender sweet look, or a gentle embrace, I take joy in what's free, and costs nothing at all, A moment of laughter which sometimes I recall. I delight in the fact I am here every day, A chance to enjoy all which might pass my way. We pass this way once, so many would say - But I take joy in fact that I'm living today. The sounds of the world brings such pleasure to me, After years of such silence - just the sound of a bee- Is pure magic, enriching the joys of today, As he scurries and buzzes and goes on his way. I delight in the kindness of folks that I know, The caring, the thoughtfulness, people can show. I take joy in the fact that my heart knows no fear, For I've been given today, and another bright year. I thank God every day for the love I have known, For each happy sweet day, for each tenderness shown. I take joy in my heart, more than can be expressed - For a life of such beauty - A life truly blessed.

The Christmas Poem - ( December 2006 ).
There is a greater strength in silence, This is what I've been told, A greater strength in staying young, Than ever growing old. There is wisdom in humility, And sincerity in grace, And beauty in what's deep inside Instead of on the face. There is graciousness in giving, Which outweighs any gift, There is calmness in forgiveness, Which will give the spirit lift. There's serenity in kindness, By supporting those in need, With a quiet understanding, Overcoming any greed. There is value in the treasures, Which cant be bought or sold, Like love, and understanding, As our sweet lives do unfold. So go on your way in peace now, And create what love you can, 'Tis the season to spread kindness, ...And goodwill to fellow man.

Mosaic Of Life
Life is a mosaic of so many mixed emotions As complex as the human mind, as vast as all the oceans. A giant compilation of the facets of our days, As hard to find our way around, as any giant maze. Such feelings we must cope with, like joy and fear and hope, Grief and love and kindness, with all, we have to cope. Humility and happiness, laughter and the tears, Ecstacy, euphoria, the friendship and the fears. Life is full of many things, like empathy and truth, Behaviours we are taught to know, even from our youth. How to understand our friends, how to offer prayer, How to show our kindness by showing that we care. Learning to be humble, to think of others first, How to feed our knowledge like an ever growing thirst. Trying just to do what's right, we stumble on our way, Just hoping that we get it right, for this we always pray. Life is a mosaic from the moment we are born, When from our Mothers loving arms, severely we are torn. From then we struggle onwards, learning every day, Lessons which will help us, and guide us on our way. How to live life truthfully, and try to do whats right, And try to have a vision with a clear and honest sight. Sometimes, our mosaic, we find the pieces just don't fit, Its probably the hardest thing we ever will admit... We cant slot in our anger, depression or our pain, We're left with mosaic pieces, which we really cant explain. We try to piece together the fragments that we know, But all the bits left over, seem to have no place to go. Our lifes mosaic completed, with all these bits left back, Lies, deceipt, corruption..lets put them in a sack. We really do not need them, the greed, the hate, the sorrow, So let us leave them to one side, and think again tomorrow. Now please stand back and take a look, the mosaic which we have made, Look at all the colours, of every hue and shade. See how they piece together, to make us what we are? Like a warming fire in winter, or the sailors guiding star. Every feeling that we feel, every real emotion, Is a tiny part of our mosaic, created with devotion. We make ourselves just what we are, through years of real progression, We are a project of our life..and our very own expression. The pieces of our own mosaic, no-one can take away, They will remain within our soul, forever and a day.

Sleep Soundly
As you close your eyes to sleep tonight, Dont think of all that's wrong, Just focus on whats good and right, And you'll find where you belong... Reach out within your slumbered dreams, Forgetting long lost sorrow, And know, although the night is long - The sun will shine tomorrow.

Positive Magic.
Moving ever forwards, is what we need to do, Always keeping focused on what feels right and true, Looking on the bright side, never looking back, Live a life that's positive, and never will it lack.
Always do a kindness, at every chance you can, You do not need to follow, any master plan. And if you hit a bad day, know it wont last long, Keep on thinking positve, and know you cant go wrong.
You're special and you're precious, in this universe of ours, As vital as the air we breathe, as stunning as the flowers. You're put here for a reason, your destiny is planned, The world appreciates you - now doesn't that feel grand?
So move on with your day now, with joy inside your heart, Today is your beginning, a fresh and brand new start. Keep the words inside you of this gentle little rhyme, Remember you are magic - and will be, for all of time.

A New Day Is Dawning. A new day is dawning, A day filled with sun, With birdsong and flowers, And laughter and fun.
T'was hard to imagine, A brief year ago, Just where I was heading.. or how far to go...
But now with such gladness Inside of my soul A new day is dawning, And it makes me feel whole.
Such freedom surrounds me, And fills up my heart A new day is dawning - And it's only the start.

Miracle Of Mine

Life was never quite the same, when I couldnt hear the rain, I could see the hue and vision, but it didnt feel the same. I could smell the fragrance fair, of the dampness in the air, But the sound it would elude me, and it always felt unfair. For forty years or more, no waves lashing on the shore, No child laughing out in glee, no one banging on the door, Just the silence in my mind, of a world which is unkind, Of a noisy world which I had left behind. Then a miracle occured, which now almost seems absurd, I was touched by God above as he whispered me a word, For the first time since a child, tenderly was beguiled, As I realised that God at last, on me had smiled. I could hear the falling rain, and it sounded like Champagne, To my ears which hadnt heard it for so long, And the childrens laughter too, what perfection it is true God had granted me a gift which cant be wrong. I can hear the seagulls cry, as they swoop about the sky, And the words a loved one whispers in my ear... Just how blessed was I to be, I can hear and I can see... The silent sound of one more falling tear. Thank you God for simple things, sounds of rain and churchbell rings, All the treasures which I know I missed for years You have given back to me, more than I deserve to see With the use and the pure pleasure of my ears.
2004 This poem is dedicated to the forty two years of deafness I experienced after a bout of measles as a child, and the resulting miracle of resumed hearing in 2004. With thanks to God, I am now well again.
